WHERE WERE YOU A YEAR AGO?

Boy oh boy, they’re not lying when they say you can be in a completely different place a year from now! There has been so much we had to face about ourselves, the people we surrounded ourselves with, our relationships, our mental and physical health, and even our careers. And unfortunately for some, even some losses in their life.

Our life is a continued journey, and while we don’t want to hold on to any negativity in the past that may have occurred, I think it’s so important to reflect. To remind yourself that when things seemed to be at their worst, and you didn’t know how you were going to push forward – YOU DID! And because of that you’re here today. You get to choose how you show up for yourself. You are who you believe you are. Things won’t always be easy, you’ll have days of inaction, you’ll feel the lack of motivation, and you will have days that seem hopeless.

If you told me a year ago I would be in a different state, and doing what I set out to do, I’m not sure I would’ve fully believed it. When things shut down I decided to look at it as a blessing for time and work as if I was already where I wanted to be. I had to fill my days like I was already in it. When I flipped that mentality I also took the pressure off myself. I thought, well shit, things are bad here, I’m barely getting by, but at this point, I’ve got nothing to lose so I’m just going to keep going for it. Tomorrow ain’t promise, so screw it. Worst case I know I can always go back and do something else. And on days when I didn’t know how I was going to do it, I just did what I knew until I figured it out. And I had to remind myself of my WHY to keep my mind and heart in the right place with the right energy. And full transparency I had plenty of breakdowns that my best friends had to help me out of…no one said it was going to be easy…

Keep fighting every day because you’re worth it, living your life as you dream is worth it, and being around the ones you love is worth every minute and every ounce of effort you put into cherishing this time we are blessed with on earth. You’re a damn rockstar, don’t ever forget it.
